  7.      This is the FidoNet International Echomail conference BATPOWER.
  8.              This echo is for civilized, mature discussion.
  9.        Please treat others with the same respect that you expect.

  19.   In compliance with FidoNet Echo Policy, the conference rules will be
  20. posted no less than once each month, and nothing in these rules will
  21. supersede or replace any valid FidoNet rule or policy.

  23. This Conference is dedicated to:
  24.   Batch File programming under MS/PC-DOS - all reasonable versions.  It is
  25.   also used to talk about DOS enhancement programs (RONSET, 4DOS, etc.).
  26.   While DOS is the primary OS, all other BATCH-related topics for all OS's
  27.   are welcomed.  Extra credit is given to those that are able to show how
  28.   these other related topics can be used in batch files. {^;

  30.                            Echo rules:
  31.  
  32.  - Stick with the topic of the Echo.
  33.  - Leave MODERATING to the MODERATOR(s).
  34.  - Ignore all offtopic posts - including "Tests".
  35.  - Quote only that which ties to your reply--stop QUOTAHOLISM
  36.  - If your "From: " is an alias, include your real name in the msg.
  37.    If you have a compelling reason not to, please mail it to the moderator.
  38.  - Don't request routine FidoNet info here, ask your Sysop/local net.
  39.  - No unsolicited BBS ads
  40.  - The posting of "test" msgs is considered annoying behavior.
  41.  - Use Netmail for corresponding to the moderator; don't discuss echo
  42.    policy in the open echo.
  43.  - The 'scripting' of essential & original pgms should be in accord with
  44.    the separate "Scripting guidelines".
  45.  - Don't type in all upper case unless your equipment can't do lower, or a
  46.    physical limitation is the reason.
  47.  - Don't use multi-line signatures, this only fuels the phone bill$.
  48.  - No gratuitous high-order ASCII characters-(>127) or ASCII CTRL codes.
  49.  - Telephone numbers: don't forget the country and area codes.
  50.  - Disciplinary FidoNet actions will be taken against person(s) that ignore
  51.    the SECOND warning from the moderator.  The first violation is just a
  52.    caution, so one has three tries.  The first warning (second violation)
  53.    will be private (via NET-MAIL).  The second warning (third violation)
  54.    will be public (via this echo).  Failure to correct after the second
  55.    warning is too hideous to even contemplate.
  56.  - Propose changes to the above by Netmail/E-mail to the moderator.

  58. Thanks to the efforts of Dennis Powers (1:141/1135.0) we also have the BFDS
  59. (Batch Files Distribution System) sites - a network of boards around the
  60. world, participating in the distribution of batch-related files and
  61. utilities.  The BFDS is an adjunct of this echo, and is carried by the
  62. Filebone, Planet Connect & USR FileGate.
